RECORDING DETAILS:
Every attention to the highest quality production was attained in the recording of “YAHWEH”. Here are some of the details …
Recorded by veteran Audio Engineer, Richard Cleaver, at the world renowned 1500 sq. ft. PHASE ONE (Studio A) through a vintage Neve Board, the recording has a depth and warmth unparalleled in previous projects. Trevor states:
“we have set a new standard for ourselves both in our playing and the quality of the recording captured on this project … it is truly special. It was also a real honour to work with Richard Cleaver once again after such a great partnership on the Glory and Peace album … ”
RICHARD CLEAVER is a passionate audio engineer with over thirty years of experience in recording and live sound. He has worked on hundreds of projects over the years and in many of the top flight recording studios in Toronto and Nashville. He has served as a judge for the Canadian Juno Awards, actively developed Canadian musical talent in contemporary Christian music and taught audio engineering and recording techniques. With a keen musical ear and a relentless focus on quality, Richard has built a reputation for doing whatever it takes to capture sound with excellence.
The project was also Mastered at PHASE ONE (Studio C) by award winning GEORGE SEARA.
A musician and lifelong recording enthusiast, George has quickly become one of Toronto’s leading Mix and Mastering Engineers. He works in all genres of music and happy recent clients include Rihanna, Mos Def, Holly Cole, 50 Cent, Sting, Herbie Hancock and Finger Eleven. George’s musical ear and astute attention to detail has aided him to grace the way between the recording studio and the mastering room. Recent mastering works include Anne Murray, John McDermott and U2.

Latest FRONTLINE “Flyingbow News” from Trevor
November 21st, 2009
Dear Friends and Supporters,
It is that time once more to give you an update on Flyingbow Music Ministry. As I write, we are gearing up for the 2009 “Glory and Peace” Christmas Tour which will stay closer to home this time around in beautiful Ontario. We will be playing in the following city centers: Guelph, London, Port Perry, Burlington, Belleville, Parry Sound, Sudbury, Ottawa and Kitchener. We have great memories of our tour last year to New Brunswick and P.E.I. We hope to take it to western Canada perhaps in 2010.
Here are a few important bullet updates on Flyingbow:
PARTNERSHIP WITH COMPASSION …
• I joined fellow Compassion Music Artist, Geoff Moore at my home church of Lakeside in Guelph last weekend (Nov. 15/09) for an exciting Compassion Sunday Event. It was an awesome day. You can view the video footage of the full service below. Over 180 children were sponsored at this special event – a great morning!
I want to thank all of you who have made the sacrifices this year to sponsor a child through Compassion Canada. You are making an incredible difference in your “adopted” child’s life not only now, but for eternity. Remember to take the time to write letters to your child. They are treasured. As a Compassion Artist, Compassion is a big part of what I do in this Music Missionary Ministry. To sponsor a child today, link to: http://www.compassion.ca
NEW CD UPDATE …
• As many of you know, this Fall the Band and I entered Phase One Recording Studio A, one of Canada’s finest recording facilities, for a week of tracking the next Flyingbow CD Project entitled “Yahweh”, engineered by Richard Cleaver. Hundreds of hours have been spent thus far on recording, mixing and editing. A mastering date has been set for Dec. 11 (also at Phase One – Studio C ) with George Seara whose recent clients include Rihanna, Mos Def, Holly Cole, 50 Cent, Sting, Herbie Hancock and Finger Eleven. We have certainly raised the bar on the quality of this album. Again, I am blessed to work with some of the finest musicians in the country: Steve Heathcote (Drums and Percussion), Will Jarvis (acoustic and electric Bass), Corey Lacey (acoustic and electric Guitar) and Brad Toews (Piano and Keyboards).
• We are very excited about the imminent release of the “Yahweh” CD Project – it is coming together very nicely but has taken a little longer to complete than first anticipated … as someone said, “you just can’t rush a good thing” … So, we are anticipate a CD release date of the first week of January with coinciding “Yahweh” Concert Tour Dates through 2010.
* For a rare preview of the fresh “Yahweh” arrangements, we encourage you to attend the “Yahweh” CD preview Concert this coming Friday, Nov. 27/09 at Lakeside Church in support of International Missions. Details on the Flyingbow Event Calendar.

Tracking in Kingston
September 4th, 2009
I head off to Kingston again to track at Richard Cleaver’s today. Here is a clip of a new compositon called “Passion” that will debut on the “Yahweh” CD to give you an idea of the space we are working in for this phase of the recording. Richard has a temporary control room and recording area set up until his new studio is built (read more here from Richard). We plan to finish the bulk of my violin tracking over the long weekend. We continue to appreciate your prayers and support.

In Serious “Training Mode” …
August 18th, 2009
I am in serious “training mode” this week getting ready to track my final acoustic and electric violin parts at Richard Cleaver’s Studio/Mixing Room in Kingston. People have asked me what this prep involves. Let me give you a peak into what I have been up to over the last few days.
1/ A Vigorous Workout Routine
Many people do not realize this, but playing the violin is a sport – a full body workout. I deal with many of the same repetitive stress issues on my muscles (and resulting fatigue, knotting and pain) that tennis players and golf players deal with. I mainly use the Core Performance program by Mark Verstegen which has been used by many elite athletes such as Roberto Alomar, Tiger Woods and others. It has been a great help to develop muscle balance and tone. I have a daily routine of Cardio (running and cycling), stretching, core body workouts on the floor and a Physio Ball, light weights, plus deep self massage using a tennis ball and electric massager.
2/ Listening to Tracks and Re-Charting Out My Specific Parts
Mental preparation is 75% of what I am doing this week. The more mentally prepared I am entering the studio the faster and more efficient I will be laying down my parts – this will save time and energy so that I can get my “best, freshest performance” with the least amount of effort. I have chosen to craft and compose my main melodic lines by charting them out out so I will be more consistent as I play them. I am an improviser, so this takes discipline. Of coarse, I am leaving room in the “solo sections” for the creative improvisation as well …
3/ Daily Warm-up on the Acoustic and 5-String Electric Violin
I use Schradieck (the best finger dexterity exercises), 3-Octave Major, Minor and other Modal Scales and Arpeggios, Long-tone scales (for a sustained bow, control and smoothness).
It is critical to get my fine motor skills (left hand fingers, bowing, etc.) sharp, coordinated and ready to go for this coming session (another reason why I have put working on the deck and any other heavy manual labour on hold for the time being until the bulk of my tracking is completed
.
4/ Spiritual Prep
As you know from previous posts, my morning Quiet Time is a critical part of my “training” as I seek to grow in my walk with God and stay sharp to His will and ways. I continue to covet your prayers as I record this coming weekend.
Until next time …

We Start Tracking at Phase One Today ….
August 3rd, 2009
The culmination af over two months of writing, arranging and rehearsing are finally here for the start of the tracking of our bed tracks at Phase One Studios today. To say we are excited is an understatement!

What an honour it is to have this opportunity to record in such a world class facility – truly “hallowed halls” of music. Please pray for us this week as we track:
1) That God, “Yahweh”, the Master Artist would inspire great art from each of us (it is to Him we give our gifts and this new project); 2) That we would have the absolute freedom (now that we have prepared) to dig deep and give out our very best in our playing and 3) That each session would run smoothly and efficiently under the capable direction of our Engineer, Richard Cleaver and his assistants.
If you want to stay close to the technical side of things in this project, you will enjoy reading Richard’s regular posts on his blog. His most recent one is entitled: “Getting Ready to Record Bed Tracks”.

I’ll be posting updates as the week progresses. Thanks again for your support for this exciting new CD project. I’ve got to start packing up my gear before I pick up Brad Toews from the airport …
